Office Visits
Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, beautiful smile that you've always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel. Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure that your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible. Our practice utilizes the latest technology, offering a variety of safe and gentle treatment options, to give you the customized, individual care you deserve.
Every smile starts with an initial consultation!
Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your initial consultation, we will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms
- Provide a complete oral exam, to determine if treatment is necessary
- Help you create a customized treatment plan
- Provide an estimate for treatment cost
Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all of the information that you need to determine which treatment is right for you. Please contact our practice to schedule your initial consultation.
What happens after the initial consultation?
What happens after the initial consultation?
You're one step closer to achieving the smile you've always wanted! After your consultation, we will schedule your first appointment where orthodontic diagnostic records will be taken. This appointment generally takes about 40 minutes and includes impressions to fabricate plaster study models of the teeth, x-rays, and photos of the patient's face and teeth. After Dr. Ma has evaluated your records he will meet with you to discuss your treatment in detail. The cost and payment plan options will also be reviewed
Scheduling Appointments
The appointment to place your new orthodontic appliances will take up to two hours. Regular adjustment visits will then take place every four to six weeks for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. We strive to start and finish your regular appointments on time and ask that you will help us in this effort by showing for your appointments on time. If you are unable to keep an appointment please call us as soon as possible and cancel only if it is an emergency. Rescheduling an appointment that has been made 4-6 weeks in advance can prove to be difficult. Patients are seen by appointment only and not on a walk-in basis.
Oral hygiene and visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment
Oral hygiene is extremely important during orthodontic treatment. We recommend brushing after every meal including snacks. The amount of time spent brushing must also be increased. We recommend brushing for at least 3-4 minutes each time. Flossing is also highly recommended at least once a day. When orthodontic appliances are placed we will give you a brushing kit and review with you instructions on how to brush and floss.
It is very important that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months, even during your orthodontic treatment, for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups.
